Wafer on Wheels Semiconductor Foundation
A non-profit that drives skill development programmes across the complete life cycle of semiconductor manufacturing in India, and takes the learning to where the students are. If experiential learning is my philosophy, WOWSemi is where it becomes a bus, a curriculum and a career.
Why I chair it
Nobody in Sivakasi had seen a wafer. I want every polytechnic student in India to have held one.
My own route into semiconductors ran through a diploma, a one-way ticket and years of on-the-job learning. That route should not require the ticket. The foundation exists so that a student in a district town can touch the tools, learn the discipline and see the ladder before deciding to climb it.
- Full life cycle: skill programmes that span wafer fab, ATMP/OSAT, equipment engineering and facility roles, not only design.
- To where the students are: a mobile semiconductor lab that takes the fab to the campus, rather than waiting for the campus to reach a fab.
- Inclusive by design: programmes that open advanced-manufacturing roles to specially-abled individuals.
- Industry-anchored: built by practitioners from fabs and OEMs, aligned to what a fab will actually hire for.

The fab on wheels
A mobile lab that brings cleanroom protocol, wafer handling and equipment fundamentals to colleges and polytechnics across India.
Life-cycle skill programmes
Curricula that follow the tool from installation to sustaining and the wafer from fab to package, taught by people who have done each step.
Inclusion programmes
Pathways for specially-abled individuals into precision manufacturing roles, designed with the roles' real demands in mind.
Industry & government partnerships
Working with state missions, OEMs, fabs and academia so that what is taught is what is hired, and what is hired is available locally.
Bharat Semiconductor Society
A non-profit incubating the semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in India. I mentor founders and engineers on facilities, equipment, people and the execution layer that turns a plan into a plant.
